Job Description

The role-holder is required to support Development and Delivery of innovative supply chain solutions that give RBS a competitive advantage, improve RBS customer experience and align with the Banks cost and Risk appetite expectations. This role is for an experienced Supply Chain Professional who manages Sourcing Strategy for specific categories for the Bank in the region.

The individual is a subject matter expert for the given category and delivers full source sourcing and contract manager support roles independently. This role may have entry-level people management/ have the role-holder acting as Sourcing hub with supplier and business engagement at mid-management level.

What The Business Does:
The business provides input to the development of “joined-up” supply chain strategies and solutions that incorporate the full contract lifecycle across assigned categories, geographies, and business areas within the bank.

Your Responsibilities:
Support the development and delivery of supply chain strategies and solutions with analytical inputs and market information. Provide input to the development and implementation of supply chain category strategies within

Routine management of the Bank’s supply base in line with RBS objectives, including the day to day management of specific suppliers on behalf of the Bank, providing recommendations on potential new suppliers, monitoring and providing input to improving supplier performance. Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders across the Bank in line with the defined stakeholder management strategy

Build an understanding of business requirements and priorities within assigned areas of the Bank relevant to specific projects as assigned. Support in the delivery of supply chain solutions that meet business requirements

Provide analysis and decision support that contributes to the delivery of robust commercial deals for the Bank, that meet the Bank’s risk appetite and contribute to the overall reduction of its cost base and/or improve the customer experience

Ensure the timely execution of the Bank’s contract pipeline within remit. Deliver contract management activity in line with the policy requirements. Deliver specific supply chain projects in collaboration with business stakeholders to agreed timelines and budgets

Draft and negotiate contracts with vendors in line with the Banks policies. Own, manage and supervise the risks which exist in the business area, ensuring mechanisms are in place to identify, report, manage and mitigate risk within a defined Risk Appetite

Handle the proactive identification and effective management and/or escalation of conduct risk to deliver key customer outcomes

The Skills That You Need:
Full Time Management Post Graduates (with graduation in engineering as preferred) having 8-10 years or more experience

Possess relevant professional qualifications such as CPIM/APICS/SCCP

A minimum of 8 years experience in Supply Chain ideally across a variety of spend categories and industries/organisations

Commodity and supply market knowledge of 1 or more spend categories with working Knowledge of Contract law and legal knowledge relevant to supply chain

Knowledge of and/or experienced in managing supplier relationships and contracts, knowledge of and/or experience in cost and financial management, and experience in cost and financial management

Be experienced in project delivery and management and in using technology solutions for Sourcing and Contract Management

Good interpersonal skills including effective communications, relationship building and stakeholder management

Ability to plan and prioritise effectively and to manage and deliver a demanding workload

Knowledge of and/or experienced in project delivery

Ability to analyse data and complex inputs to support sound business decisions

Be a self-starter with the ability to bring in market insights via research and networking

Be a creative thinker with an entrepreneurial mind-set and have the ability to develop a solution from idea to implementation

Lateral thinking skills on new subject areas along with an eye for detail

Requires exposure to variety of commodities, requires intensive reading and information update

Ability to develop a fairly good understanding of category on a short notice
