Overview:

The Support for Mission Critical (SMC) is a team with a diversified skill set dedicated to deliver an end to end support experience to our top tier customers using Microsoft technology to build true Mission Critical applications to run their business. The Mission Critical customers are usually very technically savvy and have good expertise in the Microsoft technologies they use. SMC customers usually are blue chip stock market institutions, e.g. oil companies, world banking backbones and large government entities.

The role offers flexibility to work from home (except when travel for work needed and meetings where onsite or presence at work is preferred) .

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:
Act as the customer lead for proactive and reactive service delivery for SMC accounts.

Responsible for creating SMC lifecycle technical documentations, custom IP and education sessions for the customers.

Use interpersonal and communication skills, while working with diverse audiences including highly technical IT professionals, developers, architects, and other internal stakeholders. Maintain strong relationships with customer contacts to ensure high customer satisfaction.

Work on technically complex advisory and reactive issues about Microsoft software products and manage relationships with those customers. Frequently, these problems will not only be technically complex, but will be politically charged situations requiring the highest level of customer handling skills.

Analyze trends and mitigate customer pains. This may involve writing sample code or new IP development type of work Manage crisis situations that may involve politically challenging issues and diverse audiences and participate in the 24X7 on-call rotation model.

Available to travel within specified countries for assigned SMC customer accounts to conduct SMC lifecycle related assessments and reviews, to ensure timely delivery (up to 15%).

Share lessons learned with customers, engineers and account managers. Define mitigation strategies to ensure customer solutions run efficiently.

Working in a team environment to collaborate and/or lead efforts from resolving customer issues to helping define long term strategic goals. Daily interaction with other engineers to provide technical action plans for, or take ownership of challenging issues.

Close collaboration with other technical teams at Microsoft to deliver solutions to customer issues. Potential to work directly with the product group development teams to obtain product design information or isolate both bug and non-bug related issues.

Ability to use debug skills and source code access to troubleshoot and isolate problems to a component level.

Create technical content including Knowledge Base articles, whitepapers, training documents, etc.

Demonstrated leadership skills and strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Develop and execute a self-improvement plan on an ongoing basis to meet changing job expectations within acceptable business timeframes.

Qualifications

Exchange & O365

Solid industry experience with Microsoft Server products and extensive experience with Exchange Server 2013/2016 on-premises/hybrid scenarios and Office 365 (including migration scenarios)

Office 365 and Exchange Online knowledge with proven historical record of delivering business outcomes

Good understanding of related technologies (e.g Active Directory, Networking, IIS, .Net etc…) and 3rd party applications such as Load Balancers, Firewalls, Anitvirius and Antispam and virtualization solutions.

Skype for Business/Lync/OCS intermediate or advanced level experience will be a plus but not a must.

Experience with supporting, planning, design and implementation of migration scenarios from on-premises to hybrid/online for Exchange environments.

knowledge of Windows Architecture and Internals (e.g. Processes, Threads, Memory Management, Networking, Kernel Architecture) and ability to traverse through source code

Use trace analysis, source code, and other sophisticated tools to analyze problems and develop solutions to meet customer needs; may involve writing sample code

Solid understanding of client/server, networking, and Internet technologies fundamentals.

PowerShell scripting knowledge and experience

Strong troubleshooting skills and experience with O365 and Exchange.

SharePoint Online experience will be an advantage for the Wellington role.

Cloud Platform (Azure focus):
Azure and Cloud (IaaS, PaaS) solution knowledge with proven historical record of delivering business outcome

Active Directory and related technologies:
Active Directory Site Topology best practices

Distributed File System Replication/Namespaces

Group Policy

DNS (and specific relevance to Active Directory)

Azure IaaS (networking, VMs, ExpressRoute), RBAC

ASM and ARM

Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS) and Web Application Proxy

Strong troubleshooting skills and experience: Application of tools such as Perfmon, Message Analyzer, WPT

Certificate Services and the troubleshooting of certificate issues

SQL Server knowledge will be much preferred

SQLOS (SQL 2012/2014/2016 and above)

OLTP workload performance bottleneck analysis and fine-tuning

Data analytics products (Power BI, SSRS, SSIS)

Design and optimize High Availability, Disaster Recovery solution

Scalability features and supporting architectures

MDM (Intune) knowledge will be preferred

Dynamics CRM

5+ years of industry experience assessing complex, business critical Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement and/or Microsoft Dynamics CRM environments against Microsoft good practices & supporting customers as they go-live and operate their D365 CE/CRM solution

Knowledge with tools commonly used to manage complex D365 CE/CRM implementations, such as DIXF (Data Import Export Framework), IDMF (Intelligent Data Management Framework), AIF/WCF Services and will be comfortable advising customers on topics such as data management, performance tuning, X++ development practices, upgrades and infrastructure sizing

Deep understanding of related Microsoft technologies, including SQL, SSRS/SSAS, SharePoint, Visual Studio and TFS

Accreditations/knowledge of Microsoft D365 CE/CRM deliveries that review performance, supportability, infrastructure design and customizations, or be willing and able to become accredited following hire

Dynamics ERP/AX

Ideal candidate should be experienced in implementing, operating, tuning and troubleshooting AX 2012 & D365FAO, EE systems, ideally in multiple industries.

Excellent architectural knowledge of D365FAO, EE and Dynamics AX 2012 R3 (note: Dynamics AX 2009, AX 2012/2012 R2 is optional)

Development (X++) and/or Application Lifecycle Management experience preferred

Strong knowledge of the entire Microsoft Azure stack

Advanced D365FAO,EE Performance Troubleshooting experience (TraceParser, LCS Telemetry, Performance monitoring, Query Store, SQL Extended Events)

Microsoft accreditation in Dynamics AX, SQL and/ or Azure preferred

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Lifecycle Services

The following areas may also be beneficial:
Debugging skills (ability to troubleshoot issue using debugger).

Development experience in .NET languages (C#)

Knowledge of Visual Studio Web Performance and Load Testing

Experience in the Azure integration stack preferred

Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information System, Math, Engineering, or related field.
