This position involves the management/leadership of the Payer Data Services EHI Data Engineering team. The data engineering team is tasked with onboarding and supporting inbound and outbound data feeds for the Evolent Payer Data Warehouse using our custom metadata driven ETL process built in SAS and SQL Server. We are looking for a bright and energetic individual to fill this leadership position. This position involves leading prioritization, staffing, and implementation of data engineering deliverables for our host of clients while also providing expertise and leadership in the future direction of the team.
Manage workflow of the PDS Data Engineering Team including coordination of timelines, prioritization, staffing and planning of work for client and market-driven enhancements and development tasks to improve operational efficiency
Subject matter expert for Data Engineering team and liaison with other PDS teams, business teams, Analytics, and project managers/executives
Manage client requests while balancing internal resources
Develop and deliver internal and external progress updates for ongoing projects
Guide technical implementation of standard data feeds with health systems, external vendors and other entities
Develop novel methods to improve the implementation and support process
Work with leadership to enhance our data deliveries
Identify and communicate project risks and risk mitigation strategies
Implement and develop data quality control protocols and monitor their impact
Lead, grow and mentor team and aid in development of learning activities, educational opportunities, and career advancement initiatives
Expectation is that this position will be required to be hands-on with development at times
Key competencies/skill/success factors:
BS, and/or Masters in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Informatics or a comparable program with a quantitative emphasis
5+ years of client/service experience with recent healthcare data analysis experience; payor experience required
Competency in data manipulation, ETL, and analysis: accessing raw data in varied formats with different methods and analyzing and processing data
Must be analytical, detail oriented, and possess desire to advance and grow personally and professionally
Strong project management aptitude with ability to multi-task and manage multiple client projects with varying timelines
Experience with managing and leading a team of 5+ individuals
8+ Years of SAS programming experience including SAS Macros and PROC SQL; a desire to expand SAS programming knowledge is a plus
Prior experience with engaging US onshore teams
Expert in SQL
Able to work in fast-paced environment with little direction and frequently changing priorities
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Excellent PC skills; including Excel, Visio, Word and Project
Desire to learn and grow
Experience in healthcare
