Role Purpose (overall high level summary of the role)
BA should take the ownership of the project requirements and work with business stakeholders to document the requirements. The role demands the resource to function as Business Analyst and as System Analyst as well.
Key responsibilities are below.
To undertake business analyst roles covering SDLC phases (requirements gathering, feasibility study, functional specifications, interface specifications, test cases) using SDLC or AGILE methodology of delivery
The associate will be required to co-ordinate with business stakeholders and delivery teams through the life cycle of the projects ie. Support development team in design and development phases as well as responsible to provide solution to business problems / opportunities
In addition, BA will be required to encourage best practices in the development of solutions and ensure delivery of qualitative and cost efficient system solutions for the HSBC group
BA will additionally be responsible for working closely with the Testing teams and reviewing test cases, PVT cases, testing results and help business in PVT.
The BA is expected to carry out knowledge sharing and training activities where required
Highly developed problem solving and analytical abilities including the ability to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details and apply sound business knowledge.
Elicit user requirements and document in accepted formats with client sign-off.
Analyze Business Requirement and prepare detailed requirement
Capability to function also as system analyst
Providing consultation / inputs to business
Providing requirement walkthrough to project stakeholders
Ensure that the functional information is appropriately conveyed to the technical teams and testing team as per project needs through training to development and testing teams
Production / UAT Data Analysis for scope definition
Assisting testing team with scope definition, test strategy and test scenario
Work with external service providers / vendors
Ability to prioritize work to successfully deliver service to agreed levels in a diverse and constantly changing environment
Effectively co-ordinate delivery of services involving elements delivered by other internal/external teams
Strong customer focus
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Be able to clearly and professionally communicate with all business and IT parties, including negotiation skills to resolve conflicts and maintain good relationship with all parties.
Demonstrated success in key stakeholder management
Have ability to multi-task and work independently, as well as work collaboratively with other teams, some of which may be geographically distributed
Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
At least 4 years of relevant IT experience, including exposure to business analysis, systems analysis, functional testing.
Prior business analysis / consulting experience in Corporate Internet banking, Payments or Corporate Channels domain is preferred.
Knowledge of Banking Payment Systems and/or Banking Domain is preferred.
Experience on XML , ISO 20022, SWIFT and other industry standard formats and frameworks is preferred
Prior experience or awareness of COBOL and DB2 is a plus
Working experience in low value, file based payments processing systems is must
Prior experience in Agile methodology is a must.
Experience in using JIRA and Visio is must
Awareness of protocols like Connect : Direct, FTPS, SFTP is desirable
Experience and awareness of BDD is desirable (Behavior Driven Development)
Awareness of Cucumber and Gherkins is advantage
