Job Title: Analyst
The purpose of the role is to be the primary finance point of contact for the Function and to provide effective finance management and decision support to the Transaction Cycle COOs and Business Unit Level teams. It requires strong interpersonal skills to provide regular interaction with stakeholder teams across all Group Cost Management areas as well as a wide array of business stakeholders.
A key aspect of the role is to build strong relationships with Clients and Stakeholders, becoming a trusted advisor, while at the same time providing critical challenge, together with building strong relationships with the wider Business Finance Partner community and their key clients. In addition, a key purpose of the role is to provide strategic financial management and decision leadership to the Transaction Cycles Senior leadership and liaise with sub area Accountable Executives & Business Managers to support in setting and driving the Transaction Cycles cost strategy.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to understanding and owning actual cost, forecast costs and articulating the cost story both to financial and non-financial stakeholders. The successful candidate must be able to help formulate and implement key strategic decisions around the shape and cost base of the Transaction Cycle.
What will you be doing?
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Planning & Analytics
Assist in preparation of annual budgets (STP and MTP), forecasts (RAF & OL) and co-ordinate with multiple stakeholders to consolidate the information keeping various parameters readily available
Analyse confidential financial information to produce revised forecasts on a regular basis and preparation of periodic Run Rates
Preparation and updating of quarterly/annual templates, control files, financial packs, collating various commentaries, executive summary and transaction level Financials
Deliver meaningful presentations of RAF / MTP /Outlook output for review with key stakeholders; containing various performance metrics and commentaries
Provide insightful business reporting & analysis to support informed and effective decision making
Challenge rationale with clarity and intuition and bring creativity and innovation to alternative solutions
Ability to automate using various tools, knowledge of VBA to build Macros
Assist with forecast of the financial performance of business lines
Participate in ad hoc financial projects as and when required
Updating Process documents and SOPs
Maintenance and development of Hyperion Planning System
Provision of decision making capability to support day-to-day Hyperion Planning Process
Identify & implement process improvements to support more efficient financial analysis
Coordinate with technical teams for implementation of change requests in accordance with bank specified policies
Understands the relationships between data inputs and reporting data models
Understands the impact of changes in the hierarchical element on the other artefacts in the system set up and is able to guide the technology team as well as the business for the pre-emptive remediation of the possible data/functionality loss
Close engagement with technology teams to understand any changes and provide operational impact assessment
What we’re looking for:
Strong academic background, minimum bachelor degree from a reputable institution
Qualified Accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA), MBA with extensive experience in finance cost management or Financial Planning and Analysis
Preferable with experience of Banking
Excellent MS Office specially MS Excel
Excellent communication both verbal and written
