What is INSPIRE scholarship?
Inspire Scholarship for Higher Education is a program by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. The Inspire Scholarship scheme aims to provide financial assistance to students who have passed Class 12 and wish to pursue courses in Basic and Natural Science. Selected applicants will receive a monthly Inspire scholarship amount of Rs. 5000 and a mentorship grant of INR 20,000 per year.

INSPIRE Scholarship Eligibility
- Top 1% Meritorious Students:
- Achieved top 1% aggregate marks in Class XII examination from any State/Central Education Board in India.
- Pursuing B.Sc., B.S., or Int.M.Sc./M.S. courses in Natural and Basic Sciences.
- Entrance Exam Ranks:
- Secured ranks within the top 10,000 in JEE of IIT or AIPMT.
- Currently enrolled in Natural and Basic Science courses in India at B.Sc., B.S., or Int. M.Sc./M.S. level.

- Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) Awardees:
- Selected under KVPY and pursuing Bachelor/Master level courses in Natural Sciences.
- Scholarship Awardees:
- National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) scholars.
- Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS) scholars.
- International Olympiad medallists.
- INSPIRE Age Limit
- INSPIRE age limit should be between the age group of 17-22 years
Only students who have completed their XII standard examination and enrolled in B.Sc., B.S., Int. M.Sc./M.S. degrees in Basic and Natural Sciences can apply for the INSPIRE Scholarship Scheme in the same year.

INSPIRE Scholarship Selection Process
The INSPIRE Scholarship selection process conducts two stages conducted by the DST. In the first stage, applications are screened based on academic performance and relevant factors. The selected candidates will qualify for the second stage, which includes an interview.
